| Ethan passed away on March 2,
2000 at the age of 17 from complications related to Hunter Syndrome. He will be remembered by his family, his friends and the
readers of this story as a happy child who touched many lives.
It is my hope, and that of Taryn, that Ethan's Feeling Switch will help other families help their own children, and those who interact with them, in understanding what is happening with their bodies. This booklet has wider application than just those children affected by MPS; in fact, it will be of comfort and assistance to children with any genetic disorder, disability or chronic illness. Children with special needs and challenges of any sort are worthy of our love, support and the chance to experience happiness. From them, too, we can surely learn much about ourselves, our world and the true purpose of life. We wish to acknowledge Ethan's mom, Jude Oberst, without whose generosity in sharing her son's story this would not have been possible. Thanks, too, to the National MPS Society for assisting in giving Ethan's Feeling Switch an online home in Taryn's World. A special nod of appreciation, as well, to Sharon Dickol, who first introduced me to Ethan's Feeling Switch. To order a printed copy of this booklet, for a nominal fee, please contact the National MPS Society at info@mpssociety.org Tell them Taryn sent you! paul
