Read the story about Ethan & his good switch!

When I was much younger than I am now I had ear infections all the time. The doctors told my parents I needed hearing aids on both ears, so that I could understand when people spoke to me. Not too long after that I needed glasses, too, so that I could see what the teacher was writing on the blackboard.  But that was only the beginning.....

Gee, why do I always have to sit on the front row?

As I got older, my body wouldn't always do what I wanted it to do:

* my legs grew real long and knock-kneed, and I had trouble keeping my balance. So, I sometimes fell right on my can when I tried to run with other kids my age!

* my fingers grew long, too, and I found making a fist was hard to do; so I couldn't hold onto things too good.
* because it was hard for me to hear, and because my tongue seemed to get in my way, I needed help learning how to say certain sounds. {""essss"" is a real doozie for me to say !!} * I get tired alot and seem to get colds, headaches and body aches all the time. {hmmm, its called ""arthur-itis"", I think!}
* school work's no picnic, either: multiplication and division? me?? forget it !! {well, I do try though}

Anyway, you get the picture!!

One day, I told my mom and dad for the umpteenth time that I was tired of being different and hearing-impaired ! It's not easy wondering why you can't keep up with the others and why you sometimes get made ""fun"" of {but, hey, guess what? it never seemed like too much fun to me!}....

We don't understand, mom & dad!

Hey, what gives?

It's not our fault!

We didn't do anything!!
