Switches: part deux part uno,
{if you missed it!}

Well, here's what my parents told me. Maybe you can tell your own parents or friends the same thing, if they give you a hard time:

everybody has little switches This switch is turned "on," but it's not really THIS big!in their body that make things work the way they should;
 they are also called jeans .

everyone's body has about a gazillion of these switches for each teeny, tiny thing you do every day (sounds sort of like a computer, huh?).

these switches are given to you by your parents when you are born, so if your mom had a switch for blond hair, yours might make you blond.  Of course, if your mom or dad had some bad switches in them, then you might get some of these as well.

with me, my switches for hearing didn't get turned on all the way, so I have trouble hearing without hearing aids. Other kids' switches for hearing may be completely turned off and, so, they are deaf.

another Tayn's World thing-a-ma-jig!

a Taryn's World somthin'r'other

all people have switches and all people have some that don't work right or are turned off. That doesn't mean they are bad people, or funny people or stupid people. It just means their switches don't work right.

my mom and dad told me that there are doctors working on figuring how to turn my switches on, so that's why we see a lot of different ones from time to time. You might be doing the same thing. Doctors often give a bunch of bad switches a name, so it's easier for them to remember {and harder for us to pronounce!}. Mine is called mannosidosis {see, what did I tell you!}

some kids' switches can never be turned on and they may have more turning off as they grow older. Many parents and doctors are trying to find out how to make it so these kids' switches will get better.  It's not always easy, though....

oh the sun shines bright on my old tarynsworld home!

My friends like me for who I am!

so when you see a kid talking or walking funny, or having trouble playing ball or even eating without someone's help, remember the switches. And remember that inside they are just kids who want to have friends like everyone else.
